Ruth Nalubega

Jjaja Ruth Nalubega, a 70-year-old grandmother living in the serene village of BuziraNjovu, Mukono once felt a deep sense of loneliness. Caring for her three grandchildren, including one who is nonverbal, presented daily challenges. She had long admired ROTOM's work supporting vulnerable seniors in her village, but never dared to believe it could touch her life.

Then, on December 15th, 2023, her prayers were answered. ROTOM staff reached out, inviting her to join the ROTOM Seniors’ Christmas fellowship. Jjaja Nalubega's joy knew no bounds. She jokingly referred to it as "winning a kind friend" – a testament to the impact of ROTOM Senior Friendships.

The Christmas party was a revelation. Surrounded by fellow seniors, Jjaja Nalubega received gifts for the first time in over 50 years – a warm blanket, essential toiletries, and delicious treats. This wasn't just about the presents; it was about the shared love and fellowship.

Since then, Jjaja Nalubega has embraced the ROTOM community. The regular fellowships nourish her soul and body. She enjoys the delicious meals (with leftovers to share at home!), the companionship of other seniors, and the valuable lessons learned about faith and love.

Most importantly, ROTOM has connected Jjaja Nalubega to free medical care, addressing a significant worry. Now, she only needs to worry about transportation, a much smaller hurdle. Today, Jjaja Nalubega's life is enriched by fellowship, free healthcare, and a renewed sense of dignity – all thanks to the support of ROTOM and our supporting friends like YOU.
