Its purpose is to raise funds to support and meet the spiritual, social, physical, and psychological needs of the elderly and children under their care in Uganda & Ethiopia. These elderly people live in poverty and have had to become the guardians of their grandchildren as they have lost their children to AIDS and other diseases.
We care greatly about allowing the elderly people we support to live dignified lives. Funds raised from this challenge that I complete will be used for our current campaign to raise funds to build a safe, clean latrine and wash area for each of the elderly people in the village in a remote area of Uganda.
Each unit will cost £554 to build, and will make such a difference in each person’s life – It really makes you think how we take a flushing toilet for granted!
