My Granddaughters’ No Longer Have to Wear Dirty Dresses

Allen N.

Meet Senior Allen Namusisi, hopeless and having to travel miles each day with little children just to do daily chores. Just to be able to water her garden and feed her grandchildren. Thanks to your help, they no longer have to wear their long dirty dresses after tending the garden because Allen now has a new ROTOM sponsored water storage system.

“Whenever I look at my water tank, I have to take a pause and remind myself that it isn’t a dream. I always wanted to own a water tank like this but I knew that it was a far-fetched dream for me to make a reality. I love to work in my garden because it is the only way I am able to get food to feed myself and my grandchildren. However, I was always conscious about getting my clothes dirty while in the garden which greatly affected my quality of work. I knew how dirty it was to collect water for my household – so I had to be extremely careful not to make my clothes dirty.”

She continues, “I would restrict my grandchildren on what games they should play because I didn’t want them to get themselves and their clothes dirty. But now we have a tank and we harvest a lot of rain water off our roof. The tanks which were provided by you, our dear donors have given many blessings of the abundance of water to our dear seniors who have lived with the reality of unclean and inaccessible water; trudging miles each day to fetch water out of the dirty river or creek beds. My grandchildren and I are no longer worried about getting our clothes dirty. I can dig in my garden without thinking about getting my dresses dirty. And, now my grandchildren can play and roll on the ground because we have enough water to wash our clothes and also, clean ourselves when we are dirty. Thank you so much ROTOM,” concludes grateful senior Allen.

Out of 450 U.S. supported seniors, so far we have installed 275 water storage tank systems since the program began. We still have about 175+ seniors left without systems to meet our goal! I know many of you helped install a tank for your senior, but some seniors still need access to clean water. Will you give out of your abundance?
