Donor Spotlight: @20th “Why I love ROTOM” Christine Aue-Schirra Shares Her Testimony

I so appreciate being part of this ministry for several reasons, including that I am a grandparent who raised a grandchild from baby to adulthood, my grandson Gabriel. I enjoy sharing with someone like my senior Richard Kiwanuka and his wife, Robinah who have also been raising grandchildren. I joined ROTOM several years ago when I attended Bethel Church. They had a little talk about missions and ROTOM seniors were presented. It was special to my heart because I was a grandparent raising a grandchild, alone at the time (my first husband died in 2003 when Gabriel was 5 years old. I had custody of him and he lived with me from 5 months old until he turned 26 years old, last year and is now living on his own).

What I like is that we get to regularly correspond and learn about each other’s lives and exchange details about where we live and our church, and where I get to sing and play the piano. Richard has been writing me several times a year from Uganda, Africa and I look forward to his letters written by way of ROTOM field agents who help with translation.

Something really important is the fact that I know exactly where and how my donation is used – a reason to donate to this wonderful ministry! ROTOM is a ministry where I know where my donations go to. I hope I can make things a little bit easier for people like Richard, his wife and family.
