ROTOM ON THE ‘MOVE @ PCA ’23 in Memphis!

By Ben Beatty, ROTOM U.S. Board Member

This year’s Presbyterian Church of America (PCA) General Assembly in Memphis during June 2023 was an incredibly special time for ROTOM USA. My father (Brad Beatty) and I, represented ROTOM at a booth in their exhibitor’s hall. We praise the Lord for the new relationships made with new churches and organizations, who had previously never heard of the work ROTOM is doing and the impact we are making in Uganda and Ethiopia.

In our four days running the exhibitor’s booth, ROTOM: recruited many more prayer warriors, built new church connections, joyfully shared our mission to dozens of believers, and established many potential senior friendships. Thank you to those who supported me, my dad, and ROTOM’s presence at the General Assembly meetings, both financially and in prayer.

We saw dozens of people come by the ROTOM booth, maybe as many as 75 or more. As a result, we have contact information for 8-10 possible new church partners as well as other individuals that want to know more about ROTOM.

Most important was that those that came by the booth could definitely see the way ROTOM works and shared that they can see the great work God is doing through us.  We had many people stop and offer to pray with us at the booth as a result of hearing about our work among the elderly and learning about ROTOM and our unique ministry.

It was so uplifting to know that people wanted to bless ROTOM through their prayers. Some of the attendees acknowledged they couldn’t financially support ROTOM right now but felt led to pray for us and our work.  It was such a blessing to have them actively praying for us and sensed God’s Spirit moving in the hearts of those that stopped by. We are so grateful to have represented ROTOM at the PCA General Assembly and to watch how God will use our efforts to bring new friends, churches and partners join in the mission to empower the elderly to live dignified and fulfilled lives and to hear the message of the gospel in Uganda and Ethiopia.

We ask for you to please pray with us as we follow up on these new connections and for God’s blessing on ROTOM in the coming years.
